This was such an interesting place! I saw a billboard near midtown and decided to stop by. There were tons of beautiful and unique antiques, they even had a few pieces from the original 'Killers of the Flower Moon', which was pretty cool. It is pricey, but they are antiques. I bought a $20 t-shirt, but other than that I just walked around and admired the shop.
Awesome place, offers antiques, plants, one of a kind art and great for the eclectic person or person in your life. Definitely visit you won't be disappointed.
An IKEA of Dead People's stuff.
That's the best way to describe this place. I also kept hearing in my head....look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Want a thing a ma bob? I got 20!
That is the best way to describe it. Anything and everything from the past is here including staircases! Claw foot tubs, silverware, a whole hall of doors, windows, handles for cabinets and doors, old wood, lighting fixtures, and the list just keeps going. I think we spent a good hour just looking around. It's really fun and I highly recommend.
They have parallel parking in front of the store.
What a great place to wander! At one time OKC was known for having elaborate, detailed, intricate home interiors. Influences from 1800s California and Old Mexico. In the 1920s, as old became king, people were ordering custom stained glass, custom metal work and the finest of woods for trim and decoration. Unfortunately several homes and grand public building feel into disrepair which is why, recovery places like Dead People's Stuff exist. This endless shop is packed with everything. EVERYTHING! I was looking for an ornate screen or grate. Uhm... Like 100 items to think about! Some of the metal work screens were easily 100 years old but maybe closer to 200 years old. Crafted in a blacksmith shop so those years ago. Endless recovered doors... Mid century modern, old quarter sawn oak, wrought iron wonders. Stained glass everywhere. Fixtures, hardware, clocks, rugs, on and on. Just a really really great place to visit. A true wonderland!
Great architectural salvage and antique store, so much to see its easy to get lost. Really enjoyed our visit.
I gave this place a 5 because the stuff is gorgeous. Well laid out and had a good feel to it. The prices were not what I would recommend for anyone who I'd a real antiquities buyer or dealer. Much was over priced and many things can be found at an estate sale, garage sale or roadside thrift.
Most of the furniture and wood items were amazing however and the variety of stain glass was impressive.
Wide variety and nice people! Have purchased several pieces from them (light fixtures, misc hardware, large edwardian mirror, etc.) in the past but their prices seem even higher these days making many items generally inaccessible.
For example, just went to purchase planter pots from another antique dealer (under $250 for the set - photos for reference with tag). Were told they sold recently and no sooner found them at Dead People’s Stuff for double the price. Should have acted faster on our part, but we budget out our projects as best we can. Pretty disappointing.
The idea of this store is a great idea, and there was some beautiful pieces. But the majority of the items are in piles you have to dig through and is extremely overpriced! I couldn't believe the price of things that looked like they were just salvaged from old hotel rooms and condemned buildings. Make sure you're up to date on your tetanus shot before digging through the junk.
